Opilions, often long-legged spider-like arthropods, can voluntarily release a leg when they feel threatened. This paw may remain moving for a while to emphasize the distraction maneuver on the potential predator.

Els opilions, artròpodes sovint de potes llargues semblants a les aranyes, poden alliberar voluntàriament una pota quan se senten amenaçats. Aquesta pota pot romandre un temps en moviment per tal d’emfatitzar la maniobra de distracció sobre el possible depredador.

Many species of euphorbia, although they contain highly toxic substances, are the main food of some insects. Some of these insects can accumulate these substances and notice it with their aposematic coloration.

Moltes espècies d’eufòrbia, tot i que contenen substàncies altament tòxiques, constitueixen l’aliment principal d’alguns insectes. Alguns d’aquests insectes poden acumular aquestes substàncies i advertir-ho amb la seva coloració aposemàtica.

Although some butterflies have a preference for feeding on certain plants, their distribution in a given place depends more on physical factors such as leafiness or the presence of sunny and shady areas than on existing vegetation.

The forelegs are one of the most characteristic organs of the mantis. The femur and tibia, with sharp spines on the inside and rapid gripping movements, allow them to catch prey as if they were real pliers.

The caterpillars of the butterflies show three pairs of true legs in the thoracic segments with articulated knuckles and, somewhat apart, several pairs of false unarticulated legs in the abdominal segments that help it to cling strongly to the plant that provides them with 'food.

Les erugues de les papallones mostren tres parells de verdaderes potes en els segments toràcics amb artells articulats i, quelcom separades, varis parells de falses potes no articulades en els segments abdominals que l’ajuden a agafar-se fortament a la planta que els proporciona l’aliment.

Caelifera are orthopteran insects with short antennae and hind legs adapted to jumping. Mostly diurnal, they take advantage of the heat of the sun to activate themselves and emit their characteristic song. Its auditory organs are located on each side of the abdomen.

Ensifera are orthoptern insects with long antennae and hind legs adapted to jumping. Mostly nocturnal, they take advantage of warm summer nights to sing their characteristic song. Its auditory organs are located in the anterior tibiae.

Els ensífers són ortòpters d’antenes llargues i potes posteriors adaptades al salt. D’hàbit principalment nocturn, aprofiten les càlides nits d’estiu per emetre el seu cant característic. Els seus òrgans auditius es troben a les tíbies anteriors.
